Research draws on the detail and nuance of distinct political economies in policy analysis of inclusive growth, governance, and peace and security

Leveraging a global network of writers and policymakers, The Viyug conducts research and convenes outcome-oriented debates to generate ideas and analysis on African countries, sub-regions and their international relations. Major cross-cutting themes that The Viyug aims to work includes streams of works on elections and political systems, inclusive growth, governance and technology, sustainable resource governance, peace and security, and strengthening food and health systems.

The Africa program provides thought leadership on African politics and socio-economic change, with country depth at the core of its policy-oriented research. Within a context of diversifying foreign relations, the program’s research focuses on relations with EU, Gulf states, south-east Asia and Russia, and explores African agency within the international system.
